James W. Rose (Jim) M.Div, LMFT
Jim is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist with additional training in emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), mindfulness, equine-assisted mental health, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and Qi Gong. A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the military for nearly 30 years, Jim understands the complexities that challenge military families. With a Master’s in Divinity, he leads with compassion and empathy to help clients experience a hopeful state-of-mind during their time of struggle. Through cognitive approaches coupled with behavioral changes the client can experience a “ripple effect” of healing in all aspects of their life; Jim helps his clients navigate through this process. Specializing in anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, life transitions (aging, retirement, loss), couple relational issues, parent-child conflicts, and deployments.
Military
Jim is a retired Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel of 28 years, who served 12 years with the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. His deep commitment to serve soldiers and their families comes from his own experience of serving soldiers for three deployments while also managing the complexities of a blended family. He specializes in subjects having to do with deployment, trauma, and retirement associated with military life.
Spirituality
Jim is knowledgeable of world religions, and Christian faiths through his Master’s in Divinity and service as a military chaplain. This knowledge leads to openness regarding the different perspectives of people who wish to incorporate a higher power into their treatment. He is also understanding of individuals who consider themselves atheist, humanist, agnostic, seeker, or other.
